Thank You
I’m not sure why but for the last few weeks the Beatles song “Thank You Girl” has been rolling around in my head. Maybe it’s because we’re fast approaching Thanksgiving, or maybe I need to do something nice for my wife, either or, I began to ponder the words that Lennon and McCartney wrote nearly fifty years ago, and how they remind me that we really need to just simply thank God, and then sit back and see what He does.
Oh, oh,
You've been good to me,
Thank God for His goodness and how good He is to you, honest, He really is. And He doesn’t quit, He just keeps pouring it on!
Give thanks to GOD—he is good and his love never quits. 1 Chronicles 16:34 Message
You made me glad
When I was blue,
God can and does, if we let Him, take our frowns and turn them upside down. I know this sounds kinda trite, but if you’re a Christ follower, He’ll Rock your world, if you give Him a chance.
You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance;
You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers.
I'm about to burst with song; I can't keep quiet about you.
GOD, my God, I can't thank you enough. Psalm 30:11 (The Message)
And eternally I'll always be
In love with you,
Thank God, because He loves you, yesterday, today and forever! As much as I love my wife, and that’s a lot, it pales in comparison to God’s love.
Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:2 NIV
And all I gotta do
Is thank you god, thank you god.
Make this Thanksgiving one that you’ll remember, begin to praise God. It’s really not something that you “gotta do” it’s something you “get to do”!
It doesn’t matter wither it’s at church, at home, at work or a hymn, or even a song from your favorite band. Praise Him, thank Him and this Thanksgiving will change your life, go ahead try it, I dare you!
I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30 NIV
Happy Thanksgiving!
